These handpainted cups are made of a special & sacred type of pottery called barro rojo. It is made by artisans from the Sierra Mixe region of Oaxaca, Mexico. Barro rojo is cooked in a bed of wood and molded by hand. It does not contain enamels or external chemicals.

In the mountainous regions where the red clay is found, it is the women who do the work of extracting it & molding it. These women mold with one clay & use another type for the color. They use the sun to dry the clay after they make the items, creating a 100% natural & handmade product.

Estas tazas pintadas a mano están hechas de un tipo de cerámica especial y sagrado llamado "barro rojo". Está hecho por artesanos de la región Sierra Mixe de Oaxaca, México. Barro rojo se cuece en lecho de madera y se moldea a mano. No contiene esmaltes ni productos químicos externos.

En las regiones montañosas donde se encuentra barro rojo, son las mujeres quienes hacen el trabajo de extraerla y moldearla. Estas mujeres moldean con una barro y usan otro tipo para el color. Utilizan el sol para secar la arcilla después de hacer los artículos, creando un producto 100% natural y artesanal.
