We have entered into the Age of Aquarius! Get ready for a whole new era of growth & communal change. The sun will be in the constellation of Aquarius from 1/20 to 2/18, bringing with it an air of transformation. This season’s tarot/astro reading brought to you by Chandler Elise & The Meta Muse deck. SELF VS. COMMUNITY: The self we built must be reimagined.
9 OF SWORDS (air) - There’s a lot of restless energy, which can manifest as frustration, annoyance, mental anguish, depression, & fear. There can be a lot of overthinking about what’s being/been left behind. But why sit there and cry over spilled red wine, when you can get up and do something about it? Now is not the time to sit and wallow–you still have the strength to turn things around. This energy is reflective of the season we are in–the middle of winter, when the energy of nature is in decay, death, regeneration mode. There may be an overwhelming feeling of uncertainty about how things are going to move forward. Air signs (Aquarius, Gemini, Libra) will be affected the most, especially as Pluto has just stationed direct in the early degrees of Aquarius.

9s represent a journey that is near completion–in this case, a period of mental growth and expansion. You have the courage and the will within to create the life you imagine, as long as you show up authentically as your true self.
(5) THE HIEROPHANT (Taurus) - (reversed) Stubborn, stuck, fixed, dogmatic, or ignorant thinking is OVER. Fixed energy will be squaring off and ushering in radical change & innovating the way we live. Pluto is going to completely shift the mindsets of the fixed signs/placements (Taurus, Scorpio, Aquarius, Leo). Pluto in Aquarius squares Jupiter & Uranus in Taurus, bringing everything we knew from the past era into question as the collective sees the cracks in the foundation. There is a lot of focus around the limiting beliefs that our past & present has been constructed on. Do we have the courage to let go of tradition? (Because we must, whether we “like” it or not.) Are we truly ready to embrace the huge change that is happening? It’s about to get even more rapid & real, so buckle up & find your inner authority as we continue to see the historic breakdown of the government, public figures, & religion.
(1) THE MAGICIAN (Mercury) - The ultimate alchemy is doing your soul’s purpose. You’ll know when you’re in your purpose when things are happening more easily for you in that arena/area of work. You’ll realize soon that you’ve had everything you needed inside all along. “Magic” is what happens when you combine intention & aligned action. This card represents the hefty amount of spiritual work that must be done in order to get through this part of the revolution. Empower yourself with all the tools you need to create the experiences you desire, from the minutiae (i.e., making a cup of tea) to the extravagant (i.e., starting a tea import/export business). Then add up all of those empowered experiences & that’s your magical life!

9 OF WANDS (fire) - If you’ve been thinking about relocating or expanding your mind around different concepts, now may be a good time to put those plans into motion. The current cosmos is highlighting our deepest desires to be as free as possible, so it may bring up feelings around preparedness & resilience. Just remember to trust yourself through the process of upheaval & creative transformation. Your awareness has expanded, so that your joy, peace, satisfaction, & abundance can continue to expand as well. Venus in Sagittarius (ending 1/23) ignited our ability to stand up for our personal truths & freed us to explore the world around us with a more elevated perspective. Believe it or not, now is the time to take a (calculated) risk. When Venus moves into Capricorn, even as things fall apart, you can use what’s left to build a stronger, more aligned version of your life & supportive community.

(15) THE DEVIL (Capricorn) - Mars, Mercury, & MC all reside in the sign of practical & effective work (Capricorn), while the collective is dealing with the beautifully healing, yet destructive energy of Pluto in Aquarius & Uranus in Taurus. These planets squaring is breaking down everything we knew to be our reality, but Capricorn still has a heavy influence, attempting to keep the collective tied to tradition. Change your thinking to break free from old narratives that have run their course.
7 SWORDS (air) - Spiritual awakening happens after realizing that we can’t continue on like we’ve been anymore. So, since we can all see that there is something heinous & unrighteous holding up the main thing we are forced to believe in, it’s time to radicalize our minds. And “radicalize” doesn’t have to mean getting super militant if that’s not what you’re called to do. But the current state of events should cause you to have a healthy amount of distrust, disgust, & increased awareness of the illusions that society distracts us with so we can be easier to manipulate. Let the truth in what you see change your perspective & encourage you to surrender to the natural course-correction occurring across the globe.
(20) JUDGEMENT (Pluto) - The planet of intense transformation is traversing through the sign of innovation & humanity. Consider this a trumpet sound for the most technological advancements we will see in our lifetime. This will also be an introduction to a level of authentic creativity that we need to push us further into a more harmonious future. Pluto is beginning to wake us up to our true nature. A rebirth is occurring, but we have to collectively find a way to release the shame & guilt of leaving the past behind. We all have a chance to wake up to the reality of our own conditioning. It’s the season to make peace with the parts of your life that can no longer come with you on the journey to personal & collective liberation. The Full Moon in Leo on 1/25 illuminates this so brightly that you won’t be able to look away (from yourself or others).
(13) DEATH (Scorpio) - Another Pluto reference! Death is the great equalizer, the great unknown, the portal for the greatest change. Death isn’t something to be afraid of, but there are a lot of people facing harsh realities right now. (The Baby Boomer generation is preparing to pass the torch & let go of everything they’ve built in this realm). This is a season of letting go, though. Remember, we’re in the dead of winter, trees are bare, plants are freezing & dying, skin is shedding. It’s a time of decay that literally happens every year around this time. Let us use Mother Nature as our guide. The women are intimately linked to this process of birth, life, death, & rebirth. The womb is the portal of life from the most unknown & ancient energies–the dark feminine energy, the divine chaos (power) within. How willing are you to listen to the dark, divine feminine parts of yourself? This will be reflected in how freely the divine feminine energy flows around you as well. The collective will do well to move into a place where speaking about the process of letting go (grief) is more comfortable & natural. Collective grief is something we can organize around, creating pathways for that stuck, stagnant, dead, death energy to flow to its proper place–out of our bodies & into the spaces where it can be used to create change (healing).

(3) THE EMPRESS (Venus) & 8 OF PENTACLES (Capricorn) - Venus enters Capricorn on 1/23, making us bring our love & energy spending back down to earth. The focus of this life is love & pleasure, no matter what anyone tries to tell you. And when the energy of supreme pleasure (Venus) meets the energy of practical & essential work ethic (Capricorn), we have the capability to build something special with a stronger foundation than ever before. The question of “What do you want your life to look, smell, taste, sound, & feel like?” becomes easier to answer once the planet makes her move. Get curious & detailed about your ideal life & write down as much of it as possible. That way you can see it outside of the confines of your brain & into the present reality on paper. 9 OF CUPS (water) - The collective has been yearning for a change–something will happen during this month to signal that our prayers are being answered & wishes are being granted. Vivid imagination & an expanded heart are the keys to making your soul happy & for your wildest dreams to come true. It’s 1000% okay to desire a better life–the biggest lesson is knowing you deserve it.
3 OF CUPS (water) - Get together with like minded people & connect on everything you love. It will be clear to see who is solid in your life by how loving the communication is. This is also a sign that it’s okay to be a part of a group. Aquarius energy can tend to be more black sheep than life of the party, so it’s good to balance that out with a trustworthy community.
4 OF WANDS - At the end of the day, life (& death) is a celebration. This season will surely give the collective something to feel good about, if you’ve been doing the foundation work. You were born to be present in this current moment in time, born to be a revolutionary in your own right, & more importantly, you were born to be a divinely loving individual. 4 represents foundations, the 4 elements, the 4 directions, & the 4 balanced energies that make a human being–mind, body, spirit, & soul. When these are working in harmony, we can have a beautiful life experience. It is possible, we just have to ignite the creative fire within by finding our passion & celebrating it by doing the most good.
